What is massage therapy?

Massage is steadily rising in popularity and acceptance in NZ and worldwide, and for some very good reasons:  the education is rigorous and the standards of care are high. It is the foundation for many modern medical therapies, including chiropractic, osteopathy, and physiotherapy.

Treatment consists of a wide range of massage techniques, such as:

  • Therapeutic: also known as remedial or deep tissue massage. This is common for injury treatment and may test your pain limits.

  • Sports: a true performance enhancer: Before the event to increase your performance, and after the event to help you recover faster.

  • Relaxation: let that stress go.

  • Neuromuscular therapy: relief of chronic pain.  Especially good for arthritic joints and old injuries.

Common lifestyle problems addressed are:

  • Stress!

  • Tired/aching muscles

  • Tension headaches/ jaw clenching

  • Repetitive strain injuries, such as tennis/ golfer's elbow

  • Poor posture at work

  • Back and neck pain, especially from minor sports injuries.
